Our reunions are rotated in different cities are around the county to give everyone an opportunity to attend.

The Pack Newsletter comes out four time a year with photos and stories about what is happening with our fellow Wolfhounds, including the active duty Wolfhounds. You’ll also learn details about upcoming reunions.
Scholarships
We have a scholarship program that benefits children of past and present Wolfhounds, which is administered by the 25th Infantry Division Association. Look for information and the application in the Spring Issue.
Holy Family Home
Since 1949, the Wolfhounds have supported the Holy Family Orphanage in Osaka, Japan. In accordance with the 70 year tradition, money is contributed not only by the Wolfhound Pack, but also by active duty Wolfhounds. These funds support the annual Summer Orphan Visit to Schofield Barracks and the visit to the Holy Family Home at Christmas to play “Father Christmas” for the children.
Wolfhound Archives
The Pack has been collecting historical items and depositing them into a special vault at the University of Athens, Georgia. These items are available for use by researchers. We are also in the process of digitizing documents so they can be placed on the web for use by anyone, anywhere.
Soldier Support
The Pack has actively supported our Wolfhounds deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and those in the rear, with packages and letters. Pack members also visit our wounded soldiers in hospitals, and honored our fallen Wolfhounds by attending their funerals.

Request for DD FORM 214 Copies
There has been a lot of conversation among our membership recently concerning the request to provide copies of DD214s to the Society. It is our purpose to try to explain why the Board of Directors believes this is necessary and how we all can comply with this request without disclosing unnecessary personal information.
The 27th Infantry Regiment Historical Society, Inc. is a tax exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(19). Tax exempt veterans organizations under 501(c)(19) are required to maintain a high percentage of “war veterans” among their membership. The attached letter explains that, while they are not required to demand copies of DD214s in all cases where a veterans’ organization is being audited, examiners may do so. If The Society is audited, we must be able to provide those copies in a timely manner in order to prove the percentage of “war veterans” among our membership. If we are unable to do so, we could be faced with fines of $1,000.00 per day or lose our tax exempt status.
Accordingly your Board of Directors believes that we must have copies of DD214s on file so we can comply with such a demand. Failure to do so could be devastating to the Society. In order to protect your personal information, it would be a good idea to make a photocopy of your DD214 and blot out your Service Number, your Social Security Number and your Home of Record address. Then either scan or copy the edited DD214 and forward via email or snail mail to:

You can rest assured that we will digitize the document and then destroy the hard copy, so that it cannot get into the wrong hands. If you have any additional precautions to suggest, please let us know.
