Historic Operation: Korea
Battle of Pork Chop Hill
MSGT Melvin Richards relates the story of his participation and survival of the Battle of Pork Chop Hill. He writes:
Love CO, 3rd BN, 27th Inf Regt (Wolfhounds) paid a horrendous price in its manpower in relief of 31st Inf Regt 7th Inf Division. We held the position we were assigned. Love CO (L) lost most of its “riflemen” (12 survived). Fortunately I was one of the survivors assigned to other COs.
