Nels J. Peterson
My name is Ronald G Petersen, and my grandfather was Nels J Petersen, a Danish immigrant. He enlisted at fort Slocum NY and from there was on the Thomas Transport July 26,1919 listed as the Presidio Replacement Detachment No.3. His service was #6003163.
On his return from Vladivostok Siberia he was listed as N.J Petersen being with the 27th infantry. My grandfather would tell me his experiences being in a Rail Car and seeing the Cossacks charging at them.
